In 2016 alone, around 32 % of completed residential buildings were equipped with a heat pump. This means that the share of heat pumps in new buildings remained largely constant compared to 2015. This is confirmed by the latest figures from the Federal Statistical Office.
The heat pump is particularly strongly represented in the area of detached and semi-detached houses with 34 %, according to BWP Managing Director Dr Martin Sabel. A total of about 36,500 new buildings were equipped with heat pumps. This is 2,000 more than in 2015, which proves that climate-friendly building is possible and affordable, says Martin Sabel.
In Baden-Württemberg alone, 47.9 % of all builders use heat pumps. This means that the state has the highest share of heat pumps ever recorded in a federal state.
The market share of heat pumps is mainly accounted for by environmental heat. This includes groundwater heat pumps as well as air heat pumps. But new systems are also increasingly conquering the market.
The air-water heat pump is the most popular. It extracts heat from the outside air and transfers it to the house as heating energy. Due to the low operating current of one kilowatt, up to five times as much heating power can be achieved.
The Brunner heat pump supplies the required heat for heating and hot water. The hydraulic tower for this is located in the building and is installed there in a space-saving manner, as are all the necessary components. With a capacity of 200 litres, there are always sufficient hot water reserves available. The connection to the heating system is made via the heating water storage tank.
On heating days with -2 °C, the air-water heat pump shows its highest efficiency. At lower temperatures, more electricity is required to operate the air-water heat pump, efficiency decreases and the output drops.
This is where the principle of heat pump stove heating comes into play: Heat pump, hydraulics, water-bearing wood fire insert and control are networked into a system solution in this heat generator.
If the outside temperature drops, the heat pump sends an SOS to the wood stove. Via the control system, the homeowner receives a message to feed the wood stove in order to keep the heat efficiency in the house at an even level. The energy generated by the wood fire is fed into the house's heating system via the buffer tank, and the water is heated accordingly and distributed to the house's heating systems.
The advantages of such a heat generator are obvious:
Fire atmosphere and heating effect with one system
Basic need heat secured via the stove
Cost-effective
Longer life of the heat pump of eight to ten years
Constant heating level even on frost days
New buildings heated with the heat pump principle can be subsidised by KfW and BAFA. This is because other heat generators can be integrated into the heating concept in addition to the wood firing system and the heat pump.
Efficient heat pumps
up to and including 100 kilowatts rated heat power for the provision of process heat
for the combined hot water preparation and space heating of buildings
space heating of buildings
if the hot water preparation of the building is provided to a significant extent by renewable energies
for the space heating of non-residential buildings
for the provision of heat for heat grids
Heat pump stove heating is currently one of the most environment-friendly and efficient heat pump systems available for single-family homes. In the future, the trend will continue to be towards environment-friendly and cost-effective heating. At Brunner, we pay attention to a symbiosis of efficiency, environmental protection and costs when developing our heating and stove systems, thus fulfilling customer needs and our claim to a healthy environment.
Supporting the heat pump in the principle of heat pump stove heating with a tiled stove is a wonderful way to keep efficiency constant. This prevents the increase in electricity consumption that is often seen with an air-to-water heat pump.
Now take advantage of the subsidy for an environment-friendly and durable heat generator and enjoy the fire atmosphere and heating effect with the heat pump stove heating system!
