Ulrich BRUNNER GmbH is a traditional family business from Lower Bavaria. We are one of the most renowned manufacturers of wood fire technology for craft stove and fireplace construction. Our wood stoves are the result of many years of experience, a wealth of knowledge and a multitude of skills. BRUNNER manufactures exclusively in Germany. The company employs over 160 people in development and sales alone. Since 2013, wood heating systems have also been designed and built in Eggenfelden.
BRUNNER Co-Founder Martin Brunner has promised himself to manufacture good, durable and honest products. That's what BRUNNER already represented 70 years ago. Which has never changed so far.
In every BRUNNER fireplace, tiled stove or boiler one can find a will for innovation, technical know-how, scrupulousness - and a good amount of passion. At BRUNNER we take our time to develop our products, which is crucial to bring a flawless and well-engineered heating appliance onto the market. And that what the BRUNNER brand stands for- including everybody involved.
Of course, a wood fire insert by BRUNNER is pricy. But a cheaper solution has never been the better one. We are convinced of this: BRUNNER devices stand for high-quality workmanship and durability.
In more than half a million households in Germany, tiled stoves or fireplaces by BRUNNER provide cosy warmth and comfort. Their owners know: The wood fire inserts from Eggenfelden are not comparable with many competing products on the market. BRUNNER devices stand out due to their sturdiness, impeccable workmanship and sophisticated technology, not sales strategies, discounts or other promotions.
All BRUNNER products are developed and manufactured in Germany. The high-quality wood fire stove systems are being designed and, if necessary, re-developed and improved, by highly educated engineers and experienced technicians at the our headquarters in Eggenfelden. At BRUNNER, we do not only provide products, but solutions. We especially focus on combining state of the art technology with traditional and established ways of engineering and construction.
When a customer chooses a furnace by BRUNNER, he also chooses to purchase an experience he will enjoy for many years. Higher costs are being compensated by a lack of malfunctions, a perfect distribution of heat and a an optimal leverage of the wood raw material.
Only one year after the end of World War II, stove fitter Martin Brunner together with his brother, founded the "STove factory Brunner Eggenfelden". Even then it was the goal to build long-lasting, high-quality products.
The "Ökonomieherd", some sort of kitchen stove, enabled it's owner to cook proper meals, but was also the first heater that worked with the principle of gravity. For circulation, the mere water density variation via several inch thick pipes was used instead of a circulation pump. The innovative system allowed a non-electrical use and was therefore immune to electrical blackouts. The birth of the BRUNNER motto "heating the Bavarian way".
"BRUNNER remains BRUNNER - the values of my father and grandfather remain an integral part of our philosophy. Courage to change is just as important to us as partnership and reliability.”
With Hubertus Brunner, the third generation is now working in the family business. He is proud of his company's history, because BRUNNER stands for innovation and long tradition. The company always gives new impulses to the craft and this will not change in the future.
Hubertus Brunner was born in 1986, grew up in Schönau and has been attached to the love of wood fires and agriculture since childhood. Later, he completed a degree in industrial engineering, which should prepare him in the best possible way for his future in the company. Many long-time employees have known Hubertus from an early age. At the side of his father Ulrich Brunner, he grew into the company, so to speak, and grew up with his colleagues. We admire the fact that he has stepped into big shoes with the handover of the company in July 2020 and are happy to see how he grows with his tasks and does not forget humanity in the process. Of course, we all help together so that the company continues to be successful and grow. Just one big BRUNNER family.
Son Ulrich Brunner then started to produce inserts for tiled stove in the year 1979. Countless developments and trends in the field of stove and fireplace construction bear Brunner's signature. BRUNNER was the first stove manufacturer to launch a tiled stove insert without a grate: the HBO. This was followed by the first fireplace with a reheating surface, the first tiled stove with a large glazing and, at the beginning of the 1990s, the first electronic stove control (EOS/EAS), for automatic combustion control. BRUNNER was the first to develop a heating system able to combine energy from the sun, water and wood in a sensible way (DAVID), and the negative pressure safety control (USA), that allows the user to operate fireplaces and ventilation systems simultaneously. But these are just a few examples of creativity you can find at BRUNNER and their employees.
One would be lying to say we don't care about prices, while optimizing our standards for quality. But the needs and wishes of our customers always come first. And so does the development of outstanding and honest products. Doing so, we are able to manufacture products like our customers want them to be.
But developing innovations and creating extraordinary products cannot be done alone. Exceptional products are originated by a single person’s idea. That's why we at BRUNNER like to put our heads together with some of the best and most experienced craftsmen of the industry and listen closely to our partner’s experiences and practical requirements. And that is how we can guarantee, that all BRUNNER products are developed, manufactured, tested and used in all conscience. Not super duper awesome, but honest. And really, really good.
A factor in the successful history of BRUNNER that should not be underestimated is the conscious, courageous forging ahead into new waters. At BRUNNER, we call this "driving without a back mirror": we always have the future in mind. That's why it is so important for us to understand the functioning of the society and the needs of the people to be met. As a consequence, in 2013, at BRUNNER in Eggenfelden, we started to build pellet and log heaters, in order to provide a broader range of solutions for all customers who are interested in heating with wood beyond tiled stoves and fireplaces solutions.
We can always use bright ideas and likeable colleagues. That's why we also welcome unsolicited applications, because we can often find suitable applicants a place with us relatively quickly.
