Even greener heating with the new green BKH fireplace insert from BRUNNER

With its new "BKH Green Line" wood-burning fireplace series, premium manufacturer BRUNNER from Lower Bavaria is launching the perfect solution onto the market for a climate-friendly future. The energy-efficient, patented technology is unique in the industry. Extremely clean combustion ensures the lowest emission values. It can be further optimised at any time, with an exhaust gas catalytic converter and the proven electronic combustion control.

Since the introduction of its compact fireplaces in 2003, BRUNNER has continuously developed this range of fireplaces in innovative ways. The new Green Line is only a logical consequence. "Humanity is facing one of its greatest challenges - climate change. This means that a lot of things will have to change. In terms of heating, too, of course. We won't get any further just with improvements alone; we need to completely rethink wood-burning fireplaces," said Managing Director Hubertus Brunner. The result is the patented BRUNNER Green-Line: clean, efficient, sustainable, climate-friendly. Executed in the usual straight-lined, high-quality design and with a perfect flame pattern.

Cleaner than ever before

The combustion chamber geometry of fireplaces - a grateless furnace without ash box - and the specifically designed combustion air inlets are revolutionary and work like this: By selectively adding main air during the heating-up phase, the required temperature ranges for clean combustion are reached very quickly. In the main firing phase, this proportion of air is then greatly reduced and only increased again at the end of combustion in order to keep the temperature level as high as possible for as long as possible and to reduce the fire bed. The proportion of secondary air gradually decreases throughout combustion. This targeted metering of main and secondary air components with a single control element makes it possible to achieve extremely clean combustion. The new BRUNNER fireplace inserts comply with all legal limits, they even fall below them - regardless of whether the system is manually operated or equipped with the EAS automatic combustion control system.

The product-related settings of the two air components for the respective combustion situations are determined on the test bench and mechanically pre-set or stored in the stove setting. All components, from the combustion air mechanism to the fresh air connection and the air damper actuator, can be easily accessed and installed through the combustion chamber.

Upgradeable and future-proof

Because legal requirements can change and become more stringent, the Green-Line BKHs are designed far into the future and can be retrofitted at any time. "With our CO exhaust gas catalytic converter and combustion control, taking your fireplace to the next level is totally effortless. This gives us the necessary security to be able to react if limit values become more stringent”, explained Robert Häglsperger (design). The catalytic converter is an element with a coated sponge structure. It is installed in a cast iron ring element between the combustion chamber and the heating gas hood. The "metal cage" with individual catalytic converter elements can also be retrofitted in literally no time. A study has shown that: With its help, BRUNNER heating fireplaces can reduce CO emissions by up to 80 percent and hydrocarbons by over 50 percent. Proven BRUNNER Electronic Combustion Control EAS complements the catalytic converter - the perfect combination of comfort and environmental friendliness. It only needs to be heated up itself, the control system does the rest.

With its new, patented combustion technology, BRUNNER defines a new standard in environmental compatibility. The "green" series will start in May 2022 with selected flat and tunnel formats.
