Heat pumps are installed more and more frequently in new buildings, in Germany even in every third residential building. BRUNNER, the premium manufacturer from Lower Bavaria, is now launching a new appliance onto the market, the BWP 4/14 "green". The optimised heat pump works with a coolant which is environmentally friendly, delivers more power and has lower costs. It is also smaller and quieter.
Usually, chemical and fluorescent coolants are used in heat pumps. They are harmful to the environment, especially if liquid leaks through a leg. That is why the new BRUNNER BWP 4/14 "green" heat pump uses propane (R290), a completely natural coolant. Besides its environmental friendliness, there are other advantages: Its physical properties are superior to those of conventional coolants, resulting in higher flow temperatures and greater energy efficiency, which in turn saves costs. In the case of R290, the global warming potential (GWP) values (3) of the coolant are extremely low. The EHPA seal of approval certifies that the new BRUNNER heat pump is of outstanding quality and complies with the required standards. This is also important with regard to state subsidies or legal requirements. If heat pumps are operated with R290, there is also no need for an annual leakage check.
Air-source heat pumps are in vogue. Because they use the renewable solar energy stored in the air for heating purposes. At the same time, they are highly efficient without causing emissions themselves. They are located close to the building and are easy to install. The hot and cold water connections are located on the lower rear of the unit and are therefore very convenient to connect to our district heating pipe. Once the system has been set up, the maintenance opening on the rear of the unit allows maintenance work at any time and the connections can checked easily. In the BRUNNER BWP 4/14 "green" heat pump, the fan is speed-controlled, i.e. it only turns as fast as is actually necessary due to the weather conditions. This saves an enormous amount of electricity and makes the device very quiet, with a 30 per cent lesser volume than that of its predecessor. The colour of the heat pump in light grey has been chosen deliberately, so that the system blends very subtly into the background. The high-quality metal housing "made in Germany" is equipped with excellent sound insulation. Its cooling function is a special added value of the BRUNNER heat pump, which is controlled in a user-friendly way via an EOS display. It is located in the living room or in the boiler room if a BRUNNER heating centre is integrated.
The real advantages of a heat pump come into play when all heat generators and consumers in a building function as a common heating solution. To prevent a heat pump from becoming an electricity guzzler when it is cold outside, it is a good idea to combine it with a wood fireplace, i.e. a wood stove, a heating fireplace or a pellet stove. Water-bearing appliances with heat exchangers are ideal. This allows the heating of installation room while energy is supplied to the heating system. There it is available either as heating energy or for hot water preparation. The combination of a heat pump and a wood fireplace or a heat pump and heating centre allows a building to be heated with renewable energies all year round. And BRUNNER offers you everything from a single source.
